How we collect data
We collect data directly from you at checkout, through your account, contact forms, email, telephone or WhatsApp. We also receive necessary status information from payment providers, delivery partners and technical service providers. Cookies and similar technologies may collect limited device and usage information automatically.
Why we use personal data
- To operate the cart, checkout and customer account.

- To send promotional communication only when permitted and, where required, with your consent. You can opt out of marketing without affecting order-service messages.
Consent and your choices
When processing depends on your consent, the request should explain the data and purpose in clear language. You may withdraw consent using the unsubscribe option provided in marketing communication or by contacting support@royalribbon.in. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed and may not require deletion of records that must be retained for orders, tax, fraud prevention, disputes or other legal obligations.
Cookies
Essential cookies and similar storage help maintain the shopping cart, checkout, login, security and user preferences. Optional analytics or marketing technologies, where enabled, should be controlled through the available consent choices. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the store from working correctly. Browser settings can also be used to remove or restrict cookies.
Who receives personal data?
We share only the data reasonably required for a defined service with providers such as website hosting and infrastructure partners, WordPress/WooCommerce service providers, Razorpay or another enabled payment processor, Shiprocket and selected courier partners, email-delivery providers, fraud/security providers, accountants and professional advisers. We may also disclose information when required by law, court order or a competent authority, or when reasonably necessary to establish or protect legal rights.
We do not sell personal data. Service providers are expected to process data only for authorised purposes and with appropriate safeguards. Some providers may process information in other locations according to their infrastructure and applicable law.
Data retention
We retain data only for as long as needed for the purpose collected or for accounting, GST/tax, warranty, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution and other applicable legal obligations. Order and invoice records may therefore be retained longer than general enquiries. When data is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise it, subject to technical backup cycles and lawful retention requirements.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, secure connections, software maintenance, backups and service-provider controls appropriate to the nature of the store. No online system is completely risk-free. Never send passwords, OTPs, PINs or complete payment credentials through a support form, email or WhatsApp.
If a personal-data breach creates a risk requiring notification, we will take reasonable containment steps and provide the notices required by applicable law.
Children’s data
The store is not intended for children to place orders independently. A person under 18 should use the website and place an order only with the involvement and consent of a parent or lawful guardian. Please contact us if you believe a child supplied personal data without appropriate permission.
Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask for information about personal data being processed, request correction or updating of inaccurate data, request erasure where retention is not required, withdraw consent, nominate another person where the law provides, or raise a grievance. To protect customers, we may need to verify identity before completing a request.
